This very simple month-long budgeting app is built with Vue, a progressive JavaScript web framework for building user interfaces.

It allows you to input the money currently in your bank account, and then add any large debits or credits remaining for the month. At the top, it calculates the amount of money you'll finish the month with in real-time.

I created this app in just a few hours, after doing an initial Vue tutorial. I was curious how the framework would compare to React, which I'm much more familiar with.

Built with React and Ruby on Rails, Clean Spoon is a single-page web app (SPA) that allows you find recipes based on the ingredients that are already in your fridge. 

Users can enter what's in their fridge, and then explore thousands of recipes delivered from an integration with an external recipes API. Once a user finds a recipe that they like, they can add it to their list of Saved Recipes. Ingredients they need to buy can be automatically added to a shopping list, and then sent via SMS using Twilio.

This project was created in 2 weeks, with a team of 3 people. I was personally responsible for wireframing and building the front-end website and app interfaces from scratch using React. 

I built the connection between the front-end client with our backend Ruby on Rails API, and made a Twilio SMS integration. This allows users to send a shopping list of their ingredients directly to a cell phone. Additionally, I integrated the Qwant images API that generates a random image from the internet for each food ingredient. 

I built this lightweight real-time chat app as part of my coursework for the Lighthouse Labs Web Development Bootcamp. Express and WebSockets were used to build out the backend server, which enables real-time communication through the app. I also built the frontend using React with Babel and Webpack.

This project was finished way before the deadline, so I had fun working on a few stretch features:

/-commands for changing the user's username color

/giphy command enabled by the Giphy API, which then posts a gif into the chat
